Abstracts of the conferences of the 2018 Symposium

Get out of the violence? A crucial issue. “We are now,” says the founder of Aumism, in a pivotal period “: the ultimate upheavals of the Age of division, violence resists the dawn of a new era that responds to the vital need for reconciliation, fraternity.

Certainly there are advances, awareness that makes people more aware of the harm caused by violence of all kinds. But there is still much to be done and this conference contributes to consider solutions to reduce the violence in the world through a true internal alchemy: it is no longer a question of accusing God of our misfortunes but of recognizing individually and collectively that to reduce the suffering of the world, we must change, make new choices in all areas. It means, among other things, cultivating non-violence in oneself, getting out of religious intolerance, violence against nature, reconciling science and conscience, directing one’s thoughts in a fair, positive and benevolent way …

This change is facilitated by finding one’s unity with God present in all that lives: one realizes that the whole humanity is one and the same great family, that solidarity must unite all living beings.

Violence … it’s always the other’s !

Yet it also exists in everyone, and the founder of Aumism recalls: “The first field of struggle for a better future is our own personality.“[1]

But where to begin to cultivate non-violence in oneself ?

Initially, the important thing is to get to know each other. Discovering and understanding the causes of one’s own violence involves observing oneself as if it were someone else, seeing without fearing one’s fears, selfishness, pride or intolerance to better overcome them. It is then possible to be vigilant with regard to one’s emotions, intentions, reactions and to find solutions in oneself: to develop the inner strength necessary for non-violence which is in no way weakness; the ability to forgive oneself and others, “the only way to end hatred. “[2]

So many practical keys at each stage of this journey, accessible to all in the written teaching of His Holiness Lord Hamsah Manarah.
Inner nonviolence also transforms its relationship to the other: it opens to understanding, to altruism, to love. In the end, it makes us happier and makes our surroundings more happy.

In the course of history, violence has been intertwined with religion, some pursuing the wicked, persecuting religious minorities or fighting each other in the name of a God decreed as superior to that of others – not to mention those who want to eradicate all spirituality…
How to escape the feeling of helplessness in front of the ravages of so much intolerance ?

The sectarianism, alas current at the political or religious level, can slide towards intolerance which, if it imposes “its” truth by the force, sinks into the fanaticism: the religion is then diverted of the Love of God, by humans who project on them their own violence.
But, reverse this process is possible: humanity with the intolerance in their thoughts, have the power to get out by changing their way of thinking. To help them, the founder of Aumism, in His Mission as a Messenger of the New Times, reminds us that the Divine is in everyone and that all religions are sisters because God is One, whatever the Name given to Him. He also says: “I do not care to be recognized as the Messiah, what only matters for me is the unity of religions.” The monastery of Mandarom where temples and statues of many Traditions coexist, the possibility for the aumists to keep their religion of origin, testify that it is possible to live together in the respect of differences and to pray together with the OM, Divine Verb present in amen, amin, aum.

Preserving nature: urgent action, necessary for our own survival. But where does the osmosis between man and nature come from ? What is the foundation of aumist ecology ?

How much violence does our modern humanity cause to its living earth by gorging it with toxic substances to produce ever more ! The list of pollution and their consequences is long. The aggression man inflicts on the earth, plants and animals comes back to him in the food that irrigates all his cells, including his thinking cells !

It is therefore essential to get out of this gearing by guiding our choices : if we restore a bond of love with nature, it will return to us by contributing to our happiness. In Aumism, the evolution of consciousness from mineral to plant and human within the evolutionary Pyramid of the reigns of nature is the foundation of ecology : we must preserve all these reigns as they are part of us. The man’s code of honor towards the reigns of nature, encourages us to protect it by associating prayer and action : “Men, beyond their differences, says the Lord Hamsah Manarah, must know how to unite at the bedside of their environment, sick to be overexploited and polluted. [1] Whether we are believers or atheists, time is running out!

Science, in the general sense, refers to all human knowledge “which refers to facts obeying objective laws (or considered as such) and whose development requires systematization and method”

Consciousness : A subject’s apprehension of what is happening inside and outside himself. What is apprehended by consciousness, set of phenomena of the mental life of a subject in the state of awakening. (Moral) Ability to make moral judgments, to differentiate between good and bad.

Étymology : The etymology of “science” comes from the Latin, “scientia” (“knowledge”), itself from the verb “scire” (“to know”) which originally refers to the mental faculty proper to knowledge.
The etymology of “consciousness” comes from the Latin conscientia and naturally decomposed into “cum scientia”. This etymology suggests not only the subject’s knowledge of the subject, but that this object always refers to the subject himself. Consciousness includes science.

In Aumism, Science and Consciousness are not separated. Man has different degrees of consciousness [1] that concern different types of knowledge. The different degrees are : the degree 1 of the absolute, of the divine consciousness or universal consciousness, of the divine principle. Degree 2 corresponds to the Soul, the divine part in each of us. Degree 3 is the plan of the spiritual intuition, the 4th, 5th degrees are those of the intellect, the degree n ° 6 is the one of the elementary feelings and the degree n ° 7 is the material one.

Consciousness gives a meaning, a morality to all acts of life and concerns all degrees.

Degree 1, that of the fusion with the divine consciousness is reached by certain beings. It is a state of consciousness that is described in all traditions: Samadhi (Hinduism), transfiguration (Christianity), enlightenment (Buddhism) etc …
Science is neutral, it does not deal with good or bad. A scientific discovery can be used for good or bad according to the human conscience. Thus the radioactivity was used to destroy (bomb) and to cure (radiotherapy). Similarly, the GPS system initially created by the US military to reach military targets has now become a vehicle guidance system. Science can not be ignored because it is useful. Gandhi said:

“One can not eliminate misery without the help of science and technology.”

His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, describes the uses of current science positive and negative [2]. Only human consciousness can decide whether to use scientific discoveries well or badly. In Aumism, consciousness is found in all creation and therefore in the kingdoms of Nature (mineral, vegetable, animal and human). It is important to respect nature.
His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH gives a code of ethics to scientists [3] :

“The scientist of the Golden Age will undertake to respect a certain code of ethics.
The wise man of science will seek first and foremost the happiness of his fellows in the respect of the equilibrium of the kingdoms of nature. “

To conclude: It is the conscience of humanity that decides to use science well or badly.

We all agree to get out of the violence and succeed one day to live better together. But we don’t have a magic wand. And if there was enough in itself to change the lead into gold ?

In different forms, violence daily creeps into our ways of thinking: the race for consumption, the violence of films and video games, the ambient catastrophism that fuels fears, prejudices stigmatizing difference, injustices and inequalities which are factors of revolt, etc. But are we strangers to all this ? Our thoughts are creative: “If you think badly, you will act badly. If you act badly, you will perpetuate wars. If wars continue, you will increase the misfortune of your planet. “ [1]

It is therefore our responsibility to promote peace by cultivating the feeling of unity, associating with action of positive and benevolent thoughts towards our fellows, especially leaders of states – not forgetting that prayer OM is first and foremost a thought of love. Teaching new generations to think better therefore promotes their happiness and prepares them to live better together. Thus, everyone can contribute to a peaceful living together.
