Aumism is the religion of the reconciliation that is indispensable for building the new Era together.<\/p>\n
– Its only dogma, the Unity of the Faces of God, is that of tolerance and peace<\/p>\n
– Its Founder, His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, experienced this Unity from within during an Initiatic Journey<\/p>\n
– And to manifest this Unity in the eyes of the world, to open the new Era of religious peace, His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH founded the Monastery of Mandarom Shambhasalem.<\/p>\n
This is what we will see in this talk.<\/p>\n
The Unity of the Faces of God is the foundation of the Unity of religions.<\/p>\n
“God is ONE, but it is men who divide Him, who fragment Him and who set Him against Himself.”[1]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n “Whatever the Name by which He is designated, God remains the same.” The Bhagavad Gita<\/em><\/p>\n During the last millennia that humanity has just passed through, God incarnated several times on earth by sending rays of His light, taking on various personalities who all left a deep mark on the history of each civilisation. Those who are called the Envoys of God were many: the Christ, the Buddha, Moses, Pythagoras, Muhammad, Krishna, Padmasambhava, Gandhi… These Envoys of God all delivered a message of love and unity, and it is men who perverted this message and turned religions into instruments of power, tyranny and division, the better to kill one another in the name of God and religion.<\/p>\n Yet all religions, in their essence, lead to the Absolute, to the Unity of God, to the One without a second. Ramakrishna wrote: “There are many paths that lead to the fountain of Eternal Bliss; each of the world’s religions is one of those paths.” “One cannot prove one’s faith by destroying that of others, one cannot claim to love God while killing one’s neighbour to defend one’s faith, and finally one cannot want the unity of human beings while continuing to quarrel and kill one another in the name of this or that version of the Divine Principle.”[2]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n At this beginning of the Golden Age, in a world where so many religious divisions are sources of conflict and war, Aumism, the religion of the Unity of the Faces of God, gives the impetus towards a reconciliation of all religions, so that human beings may cease to set the Light of the Eternal against another Light of the Eternal. For men have broken God up into many Faces, over which they have been fighting and killing one another for millennia.<\/p>\n “To quarrel and fight in the Name of God is a dagger thrust into the heart of God; it is an abomination of the Iron Age… The respect due to each Face of God, the devotion that each expression and each extension of the Sun of Unity commands, must not make us forget that God is ONE and that He has as many Names as the sun has rays and forms, that is, an incalculable infinity impossible to estimate. Such is the Truth of God.”[3]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH experienced this Truth of the Unity of the Faces of God during an Initiatic Journey.<\/p>\n The Lord went to meet the Traditions of the West and the East: initiations and initiatic titles were conferred on Him in great number by various Masters and Sages.<\/p>\n Born into a Catholic family, His Holiness also travelled all the initiatic paths in the West. Initiated into the mysteries of the Kabbalah and of Alchemy, he knew from within all the so-called “philosophical” circles: Freemasonry, the Rosicrucians, the Martinist lodges, the Holy Grail, etc., within which he sometimes held high responsibilities.<\/p>\n In India, where he went in answer to an inner call, he stayed with the great Sage Swami Sivananda Sarasvati. The latter transmitted to him the initiation of Sannyasin (renunciant consecrated to God) on 13 February 1961 in Rishikesh, and gave him the name Swami Hamsananda Sarasvati, thus linking him to the Lineage of the Sarasvati, an Order of Ascetics created by Shankaracharya in the 7th century. Hamsananda means “Bliss in the Absolute”.<\/p>\n From Chitrabhanu, a Master of the Jain Religion, His Holiness received the Title of Adinath, Great Patron, Patriarch. His Holiness received several times the title of Acharya and of Mahacharya, He who teaches what He Himself has realised (Hinduism and Jainism).<\/p>\n He received from Swami Yogeshwarananda the Title of Shri 108 Maharaja Yoga Acharya on 1 July 1971 at the Mandarom. On 7 October 1977 He received the initiation of Milarepa and was named Karma Tensing Dorje by His Holiness the 16th Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, during a visit to the Mandarom. In the Tibetan tradition, Tensing means “He who teaches”. Other Great Figures of Buddhism, including the Lamas Pawo Rinpoche and Kalu Rinpoche, confirmed His belonging to the High Lineage of the Masters of the Golden Lotus.<\/p>\n In addition, His Holiness was initiated by Pir Daskishan, a Master of Indian Sufism; by the Doshi, Superior of the Shingon Tradition of Japanese Esoteric Buddhism; and into several African religions during His various travels.<\/p>\n After this Initiatic Journey, His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, standing at the crossroads of the Traditions of which he is the living synthesis, would found a monastery unique in the world, symbolising the Unity of Religions.<\/p>\n The Mandarom, “Sacred Mountain”, is also called Shambhasalem, for it is the City of happiness and peace. “It is the Temple of the universal religion: Aumism. A synthesis of the religious traditions has been achieved there in a form adapted to the new Age.”[4]<\/sup><\/a> It is a symbol of religious peace. “All human beings must be able to come together in this place of prayer, open to all without distinction.”[5]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n “Renewing the tradition of the builder monks of our Middle Ages, the Knights of the Golden Lotus have built over the years the most fantastic cathedral of modern times, a great open-air golden book in which God is celebrated in the many forms and faces that are part of humanity’s spiritual heritage.”[6]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n This city is a monastery where monks and nuns live all year round. The Monastery was founded by His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH in 1969. In 1990 it became the world headquarters of the Aumist religion. Aumism, derived from the sound AUM (OM), the Word of God and the Mother of all sounds, has as its only dogma the Unity of the Faces of God; that is why Temples, symbols and Statues of all the different Religions stand side by side in perfect harmony in the monastery.<\/p>\n For more than 40 years, the monks living at the monastery and the external members have taken part in all the masonry, ironwork and painting for the construction and upkeep of the sacred monuments, thus renewing the tradition of the builder monks. For us, beyond any intellectual conviction, building places of prayer that honour God, His different Faces and His different Messages has been an act of faith, concrete and anchored in matter, a will to help manifest peace and unity among all the human beings of this Earth.<\/p>\n His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, the Creator, the instigator, the Founder of this luminous Holy City, brought matter to life through his prayers, and very often he came himself to lend the workers a hand, handling the tools and the breeze blocks with a Master’s skill. He always set the example of courage, determination and perseverance and spurred us on with Love throughout the years, and we thank Him from the bottom of our hearts for having allowed us to be at his side in creating this City of Light.<\/p>\n In the south of France, at a bend in the road leading to the Lac de Castillon, above Castellane, after taking a departmental road that climbs to an altitude of 1,200 m, you discover the City of Light, the Holy City of Mandarom Shambhasalem, stretching over several hectares on the mountainside. There you will see:<\/p>\n The Hexamide is one of the fundamental symbols of Aumism: that of the Unity of religions. It represents the different religions fusing in Unity, in the light of the OM. On each face of the hexamide appears the name of a religion: Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Jainism, Sikhism, Taoism, Shintoism, Mazdaism, Natural religions, Vanished religions… And all of them meet in a sphere of the light of unity containing the OM, the primordial sound, the Word manifested from the very creation of the universes and the cosmos. All religions are One in their essence and lead to God, to the universal energy.<\/p>\n The statues of the Christ and the Buddha, erected in the same place and facing each other, give concrete form to the spirit of tolerance and unity of Aumism. They bear witness to “the Fusion and the Alliance” that the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH achieved between East and West. The greatest symbol of Unity: the Buddha facing the Christ, the Christ facing the Buddha. “More than a technical feat, the giant Buddha and the Cosmic Christ crystallise an ideal: that of the transformation of the human condition, that of the realised Being beyond all sects, schools and religions. For all those who contributed to this extraordinary achievement, it meant at once building a sign of love and peace for the world and working on the architecture of their own perfection.”[7]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n The gaze of the Christ, fused with that of the Buddha, is the symbol of tolerance and of the coming together of peoples… These two statues “mark the union of East and West, through the energies of Love in Strength of the Cosmic Christ and wisdom in action of the Adi Buddha. They put an end to millennia of divisions, sectarianism and quarrels.”[8]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n Here is the Statue of the Cosmic Christ, whose iconography corresponds to the Epistle of Saint Paul to the Ephesians. At the base of the statue is written: “The feet shod with zeal, the shield of faith, the sword of the spirit and the helmet of salvation.” It is the risen and victorious Christ. On his heart is the Swastika, a solar symbol that has existed for several millennia and is found, among other places, on Hindu temples; it is in no way the Nazi hooked cross.<\/p>\n It is dedicated to Buddhism, founded 5 centuries before Jesus Christ by the Buddha Shakyamuni. Construction work on the statue of the Maha Buddha began on 1 March 1981 and was completed on 24 June of the same year. This 22-metre statue, built using the technique of concrete sprayed onto an iron framework, weighs 700 tonnes; it is an important symbol for Buddhism and here symbolises the mystical East. The Maha Buddha holds a Vajra in his right hand and a Diamond in his left hand. Vajra and Diamond symbolise perfection. In front of him is the wheel of Evolution. By its height, the Buddha of the monastery of Mandarom Shambhasalem is the largest in the West and the 4th largest seated Buddha in the world. During its construction, our Spiritual Master the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH fasted for seventy-two days while working on the site.<\/p>\n She is the divine and cosmic Mother, the maternal and feminine aspect of God, present in different Traditions: in Christianity she is the Virgin Mary; in Hinduism the womb of Creation; Tara in Tibetan Buddhism; Kuan Yin in Chinese Buddhism, etc. She carries the torch of Knowledge that lights the way and the shield of protection. The function of Maria Cosmica within Creation is to “protect the Mission of the Messiah… to advocate the ideal of unity”.<\/p>\n The Totem represents the natural and animist religions, such as that of the Native Americans or certain African traditions.<\/p>\n Built in 1990, the statue of the Cosmoplanetary Messiah (33 metres high), one of the fundamental temples of the Aumist religion, symbolises the Unity of religions, the return of the Golden Age and of the Unity of the Faces of God. It invites human beings to tolerance. It symbolises religious peace, the end of the atrocious scenes in which, in the name of God, people kill, torture and massacre.<\/p>\n – The Statue of the Cosmoplanetary Messiah was never erected to satisfy anyone’s vanity.<\/p>\n – Like all the Temples of the Mandarom, it is a Receptacle of Divine Energy maintained by the daily prayers of the monks and the faithful.<\/p>\n – On the Messiah’s white cape appear the dimensions of Creation (Earth, Solar System, Galaxy, Universe, atom of the Purusha, Purusha): the Cosmoplanetary Messiah works not only for the evolution of planet Earth, but for the whole of Creation on a Cosmic scale.<\/p>\n – The rainbow scarf symbolises the different Religions, born of the white light of synthesis: the Messiah came to unite all Religions.<\/p>\n – On the Messiah’s robe appear the four mental Ages through which human beings pass. All this was discussed in the 1st talk.<\/p>\n – The Messiah crosses over his heart the Diamond sceptre and the Vajra with 1,008 Rays, “so that all souls may receive from his Spiritual Heart the Awakening to High Wisdom, to ultimate Truth, and may have the desire and the impulse to move forward”.[9]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n – The Messiah is crowned with the Tiara of the Cosmic Diamond, symbol of the Unity of the Faces of God, whose Energy of Peace radiates over the Earth and to infinity.<\/p>\n But this symbol of religious peace opening the new Era provoked the violence of the intolerant. Although this Statue had an official building permit, the French administration ordered its destruction on 6 September 2001, amid enormous media coverage. From 5 a.m. the demolition teams were on site, backed by 150 armed gendarmes and police officers, who must surely have feared the twenty or so monks and nuns present in the monastery, whose only weapon was prayer! What violence compared with the symbol of Peace that the Messiah represents! It was not until 2006 that the court recognised the existence of a valid permit…<\/p>\n Nevertheless, the message of Unity endures. Indeed, in a small temple, a statue of the Cosmoplanetary Messiah can still be seen by visitors. It continues to remind everyone that the new Era requires a return to fraternity among the men and women of all Traditions.<\/p>\n Other temples are dedicated to the various religions:<\/p>\n – To Judaism<\/strong><\/p>\n The GOLDEN TEMPLE, built in the autumn of 1989 according to the proportions of the famous golden ratio, like the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem; it is dedicated to the Lord Melkitsedeq, king of Justice and Peace.<\/p>\n – To Islam<\/strong><\/p>\n The MOSQUE with 4 minarets for the Muslim tradition. This 11-metre-high mosque was built in July 1989.<\/p>\n – To Hinduism<\/strong><\/p>\n The TEMPLE of KALKI in the form of a column of Fire, 15 metres high, built in August 1989. It is the symbol of the Fire of Kalki, which purifies and regenerates.<\/p>\n The TEMPLE OF THE HINDU TRIMURTI: Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva.<\/p>\n In continuity with these sacred constructions, planetary peace requires the construction of the TEMPLE PYRAMID OF THE UNITY OF THE FACES OF GOD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Its role is to contribute to reconciliation between religions, peoples and nations. With its motto “Temple Pyramid of Unity, humanity reconciled”, its reconstruction is the guarantee of a better world.<\/p>\n “The Temple Pyramid of Unity will welcome all those, believers or not, who long to see harmony and fraternity reign in the world. Everyone will be able to pray in this Temple of Unity, where all religions will be represented.”[10]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n The very existence of the monastery of Mandarom Shambhasalem is in itself an extraordinary message of tolerance, fraternity and unity in respect for differences. It “is a power station of spiritual Energy spreading its prayers on everyone, beyond the divides of borders, races, peoples and religions.”[11]<\/sup><\/a> It initiates the change of mentality indispensable to peace among all people, all peoples and all nations.<\/p>\n Evolution towards the ideal of the new era requires an individual and collective awakening: from the Unity of the Faces of God will flow the reconciliation of the religions, peoples and races and of the human beings of this earth, which can no longer go on living in division, fear and hatred.<\/p>\n We are all tiny cells of the immense Body of God and cannot go on quarrelling and killing one another in the name of God, who is Love.
