No. 4 – ENDING VIOLENCE AGAINST NATURE<\/h2>\n

We will approach this talk, \u201cEnding violence against nature in order to live together better\u201d, in three parts:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. A brief overview of the violence humans inflict on nature<\/li>\n
  2. Its consequences<\/li>\n
  3. The means of ending this violence, with the contribution of the Aumist Teaching<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I – A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF HUMAN VIOLENCE<\/h3>\n

    It is in the name of the land that I worked all my working life, and that I still work, that I invite you to understand the violence our modern humanity inflicts on the earth, our nourishing mother, and at the same time on plants, animals and human beings.<\/p>\n

    On the earth<\/strong>, by asking it to produce as much as possible, every year, without ever resting.<\/p>\n

    On plants<\/strong>: on the pretext of feeding the world (the developing countries), plants are forced to produce as much as possible with fertilisers and pesticides that are nothing other than residues of the wars men use to kill one another (explosives = nitrates = fertilisers; pesticides = active substances of the gas chambers).<\/p>\n

    On animals<\/strong>: livestock is concentrated in buildings and fed preserved feed that has nothing to do with nature. For example, the cow is either a milk factory or a meat factory, fed on a diet very high in nitrogen (which makes them excitable), so the cows are dehorned. Natural reproduction is rare; artificial insemination largely dominates. Robots are becoming widespread, and the relationship between humans and animals is growing more distant. Let us be aware that we will not feed the planet with animal protein: a cow must absorb 8 to 10 units of plant protein to produce one unit of animal protein in the form of meat, so it is a protein for the rich. 60% of cereal production is consumed by livestock. If we stopped eating meat and put that 60% on our plates, we would be far from famine.<\/p>\n

    In short, it is modern man, in our so-called evolved humanity, who dominates and manages agriculture with cutting-edge technical and support services, to meet the needs of industrial processing and mass retail.<\/p>\n

    II – THE CONSEQUENCES<\/h3>\n

    Let us be aware that all the violence we inflict on the earth, on plants and on animals comes back to human beings through food, and that this food irrigates all our cells, including our thinking and creative cells. Knowing that we become what we eat, how can we think rightly with such food? Moreover, when nitrates (fertilisers) and pesticides are sprayed on plants, the plants do not absorb everything; the soil receives some, is washed by the rain and sends them back\u2026 into our tap water.<\/p>\n

    The book L’Aumisme, la Doctrine de l’\u00c2ge d’Or<\/em> explains that the Earth is a living Being. Yes, the Earth is alive: it sends pollutants back to us, but it is also capable of preserving the life forces of the seed. A striking example: in 2016, rapeseed fields that had been weeded for 60 years suddenly turned blue with cornflowers. It was not the farmers who sowed them, so it was indeed the earth that had been able to preserve the life forces of the cornflower seed despite the weedkillers\u2026 What a lesson! As for air pollution, when you go into the fields in spring, you rarely smell the scents of nature awakening; chemicals dominate. When we met him recently, Pierre Rabhi told us: \u201cMan is intelligent, and yet he is destroying himself.\u201d<\/p>\n

    And global warming is very much here: harvests and grape-picking now take place 15 days to 3 weeks earlier than what I knew when I was a young farmer. In the middle of summer, when there is cloud cover, you almost need to wrap up, and when the sun shines, you burn. We understand that the ozone layer, our protection, has been affected.<\/p>\n

    Let us stop dwelling on the negative; the list of disasters and catastrophes that man causes through his aggression and pollution, in the name of short-term profit that endangers future generations, is long. Of course, there is progress: the leaders of many countries are aware of the danger, as shown by their mobilisation at COP21 in Paris in 2015. But divisions and delays hinder the measures that must be taken urgently\u2026 We must get out of this violence. So how?<\/p>\n

    III – HOW CAN WE END THE VIOLENCE AGAINST NATURE?<\/h3>\n

    My generation was conditioned, after the war of 1939-1945 and the food shortages, to set up what was called \u201cthe green revolution of the 1960s\u201d. Experience has shown that we absolutely must change course; we must collectively change our plane of consciousness. But the basis of the collective is first of all ourselves. We would like others to change, but to bring this about we must begin with ourselves.<\/p>\n

    Orienting our choices<\/strong>: like the earth, which filters the evolutionary energies of life and the involutionary energies of destruction, we must do this same work, first of all in our thinking, because everything begins in thought. We are here now as a result of our thought; the action of coming here followed. Let us continue with the example of agriculture: what way of thinking and acting allows us to be reconciled with the earth? We have seen that our food choices condition our behaviour towards nature, and that the state nature is in becomes our own mirror. If we want agriculture that respects the environment, with healthy food inspired by the forces of life, then let us give preference, through what we choose to eat, to the agriculture that nourishes, heals and purifies the organism, a food that awakens our dormant consciousness.<\/p>\n

    The Aumist Teaching gives an essential place to the way we think and choose our behaviour towards our environment. It helps us understand better why man has a duty to protect it.<\/p>\n

    Becoming aware of the link between humans and nature<\/strong>: His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH explains that consciousness evolves through the kingdoms of nature, from mineral to plant, from plant to animal and from animal to human. Having reached the summit of this Evolutionary Pyramid, we therefore have duties first, not rights, towards nature: we must respect it. Let us stress that it is particularly important to treat animals well, so that the experience of kindness may later make them peaceful human beings.<\/p>\n

    \u201cNever forget that the sound OM beats in every mineral, in every plant, in every animal, in every human being,\u201d says the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH in La R\u00e9volution du Monde des Vivants et des Morts<\/em>, p. 198. And He invites us to repeat the sound OM for the evolution of the kingdoms of nature.<\/p>\n

    You see, let us be aware that even if nature takes revenge for human aggression when it can bear no more, the forces of life are there. But they are discreet, silent; they dwell in nature with an impressive patience towards us. And if man respects nature, nature will repay him by contributing to his happiness. To be reconciled with it, we must be examples of life, we must be guides, and to do so we must acquire the inner purification that allows us to be the channel of the energy of true life. So that our Earth may attain unity in peace, love and serenity, let us stop making war on one another, let us stop judging. Let us accept ourselves with our imperfections and our duality, and accept those of others; let us accept their difference, in order to cultivate a feeling of unity in humility.<\/p>\n

    In the book L’Aumisme, la Doctrine de l’\u00c2ge d’Or<\/em>, p. 207, the \u201cCode of honour of man towards the kingdoms of nature\u201d lists the duties of the Golden Age human being towards \u201cMother Nature\u201d, who feeds us every day. It urges us to understand at last that \u201call the kingdoms, human, animal, plant and mineral, within the Earth are part of a whole, like a branch of the tree of life, like a wave of the ocean, like a facet of the Diamond of creation\u201d.<\/p>\n

    It urges us to: \u201cBless all the kingdoms of nature, bless all the elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether, and the entities that govern them. Bless the rocks, the mountains, the lakes, the rivers, the forests, the plants, the trees; bless the animals, the humans, the planets, the stars and the inhabitants of all the universes\u2026 Pray for the evolution of all the kingdoms, of all the levels of consciousness, animate and inanimate. Feel one’s UNITY with nature and with the whole universe.\u201d<\/p>\n

    In conclusion<\/strong>, nature is indispensable to human life, so preserving it is everyone’s concern, without distinction.<\/p>\n

    \u201cHuman beings, beyond their differences,\u201d says the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, \u201cmust know how to unite at the bedside of their living environment, sick from being overexploited and polluted.\u201d (La R\u00e9volution du Monde des Vivants et des Morts<\/em>, p. 4)<\/p>\n

    Men and women of goodwill have become aware of this and are acting individually and through associations to protect the environment. But this fight must be extended and continued shoulder to shoulder, through prayer and action, so that violence against nature may cease and the choice of life may be made on a planetary scale.<\/p>\n

    You see, at this dawn of the Golden Age there is no rest, and the matter is urgent, so: \u201ctake heart!\u201d<\/p>\n
