Biography

The origins
A quest
for knowledge
His Holiness Lord Hamsah Manarah was born into a French Catholic family. While pursuing advanced university studies in law, philosophy, economics and medicine, he devoted the rest of his time to research into Yoga, naturopathy, spirituality and the esoteric sciences.
Lord Hamsah Manarah was initiated into the mysteries of the Kabbalah and of Alchemy, and knew from the inside many “philosophical” circles of the West, within which he held important responsibilities.
From the East to the retreat
A spiritual
journey

The stay in India
In 1960, after journeys to the Holy Land and the Middle East, His Holiness stayed for a long time in India, notably in Rishikesh at the ashram of Swami Sivananda Sarasvati.
Swami Sivananda Sarasvati conferred on him the initiation of Sannyasin and gave him the name Swami Hamsananda Sarasvati.

The retreat in the Vaucluse
On his return to France in 1962, Lord Hamsah Manarah settled in an isolated cave in the Vaucluse, where he pursued his spiritual practices as a yogi, devoting himself daily to rigorous asceticism, meditation and Hatha Yoga.
The extreme conditions and the exceptional cold of the winter of 1962-1963 only strengthened the determination and the work of prayer of this Man of God.
He developed spiritual techniques enabling those willing to make the required efforts to reach union with the Divine. In this way he renewed the tradition of the Christian Desert Fathers and of the great Tibetan yogis.
It was during this period that Lord Hamsah Manarah experienced mystical fusion in God on several occasions (or higher states of Consciousness, called “Nirvikalpa Samadhi” in India).

The creation of the monastery
The founding
of the Mandarom
Lord Hamsah Manarah gave up his life as a hermit and agreed to teach, to pass on his spiritual experience to the ever more numerous visitors who sought him out, even in his cave. He instructed his first disciples and created the first centres of prayer and Yoga.
He also began writing his work, the foundation of the future religion of Aumism. His first books, dealing with the different aspects of Yoga, were republished several times.
He created the initiatic Order of the Knights of the Golden Lotus (now known as the “Knights of the Triumphant Vajra”), whose main mission is the spiritual service of humanity, in particular through prayer and the conquest of spiritual realisation.
In 1969, Lord Hamsah Manarah founded the monastery of Mandarom Shambhasalem in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, a holy place and the world headquarters of the Aumist religion. This monastery brings together temples of all religions, as well as symbols of different traditions. The religious festivals celebrated there gather several hundred believers of all faiths every year.

22 August 1990
The Revelation
The first Hierokarantine
His Holiness revealed himself to the Earth on 22 August 1990 as Cosmo-Planetary Messiah and Avatar of Synthesis. Beyond the recognition shown by dignitaries of the great religions who saw in him a Realised Being, this revelation crowned the work of prayer accomplished by Lord Hamsah Manarah.
It also gave concrete form to the Unity of the Faces of God and to the message of fraternity, respect and tolerance between religions that Lord Hamsah Manarah always addressed to humanity. In Aumism, the mission of the Messiah is to restore the Unity of the Faces of God on Earth and to give human beings the means to take charge of their future for a better world.
He is also the First Hierokarantine, founding for Aumism the Lineage of the Bodies of God on Earth, whose mission is to restore the Unity of the Faces of God and to help humanity on its way towards Peace.
In the sacred Texts of India, it is written:
“Whatever the Name by which I am called, I remain the same.”
Jesus said:
“In my Father’s house are many mansions.” (John 14-23)
According to Gandhi:
“He who has reached the very heart of his own religion has also reached the heart of the other religions.” (Letters to the Ashram)
Mission
“It is to renew the world and the universes spiritually.
It is to undo the wheels of karma and its whole hierarchy.
It is to restore the Unity of the Faces of God.
It is to form a spiritual elite able to bring the Golden Age to the whole planet.
It is to unite all Religions in a single Light of the OM.
It is to stimulate all souls to the inner combat.
It is to help all souls, at the death of the body, to be trained for the New Age in the six-branched Column of Light, crystallised in the astral around the Earth.
It is to bring about the revolution of planetary consciousness, the divine renewal, so that, after the pains of childbirth, a new and unblemished heaven may come.”
