LISTENING TO NATURE

When human activity slows down, nature catches its breath: lower air pollution, cities rediscovering birdsong, fish returning to the canals of Venice, dolphins in large numbers in the Calanques of Marseille, the peaks of the Himalayas reappearing in the skies of India, and so on. With this life becoming visible and audible to us again, the ecological question takes on a particular intensity.
Against worsening pollution and global warming, against the hellish pace of hyperconsumption and harmful lifestyles, will we at last review our priorities? With the help of the pandemic, will we be able to draw the consequences of our behaviour and keep new resolutions? Faced with the environmental emergency, will we have the courage to make new economic, social, ethical and spiritual choices? Will we find the paths of reconciliation with nature after centuries of domination and exploitation?
With the women and men committed to safeguarding the planet, we stand in solidarity with nature. “Ecology and the protection of the environment are an integral part of Aumist Mysticism, for man can no longer squeeze Nature dry and abuse its riches.” (L’Aumisme, la Doctrine de l’Age d’Or, p. 198)
This ecological conviction is founded on the unity of all living things: the Sound OM, the Source of life, “beats in every mineral, every plant, every animal and every human being.”

For those who wish, let us share this extract from a Meditation on the kingdoms of nature (Le Flambeau d’Unité, p. 435):

OM OM OM

Let us pray together that a reconciled humanity may unite in the hope of a world of peace, love, fraternity and solidarity.
Let us be reconciled, my brother, my sister of the human kingdom, with the Almighty God present in every mineral, every plant, every animal and every human being.
Let us together re-enter the noble Pyramid of the Golden Age and of unity regained with the Divine Creator.
