OFFERING ONE’S ACTIONS

Being confined with one’s children can be an opportunity to give them time and rediscover them. But some parents are constantly called upon by young and old alike, while also working their hours remotely and handling other unavoidable tasks…
It is then important to remain patient and to remember the deep meaning of one’s family life:
“Love for the members of one’s family is a stage on the path to universal love. Married life, bringing up children, facing difficulties, family and social responsibilities: all this helps to form character, to transform man and to develop his qualities.” (Le Maître Spirituel et le disciple, p. 283)
And what if, while looking after others, one cannot find a moment to refocus on oneself?
It is through “conscious” action that we can remain centred on what is essential: “those who have only a little time are able, if they are willing, to find the means of giving another dimension to the smallest gestures they are obliged to perform“, says His Holiness Lord HAMSAH MANARAH (Le Yoga de l’Amour dans la Force, ch. 14).
Every action, however prosaic, can be “spiritualised”:

“Each time you have to perform a material task that you dislike, that costs you, or even that you enjoy, offer it to the Divine.“

(La Réintégration Divine par le Yoga, p. 203)

In Aumism as in Hinduism, the offering of actions to the Divine or to Humanity is the foundation of what tradition calls Karma Yoga, or the “Yoga of disinterested action”. Particularly suited to life in the modern world, it is an authentic spiritual path, intended for those “who love God through beings and work for the good of the community in a spirit of disinterestedness.”
This perspective helps to avoid dispersion and to act consciously, as well as possible, letting go of any fixation on personal interest. Duty thus performed out of love contributes to the evolution of the planet as a whole. That is why this offering also applies to people who, while not believing in God, nonetheless sincerely wish to improve the world and keep their minds centred on this commitment.
