TOWARDS SOLIDARITY
At the start of this year, making a new beginning is an opportunity to think more of others. Let us take advantage of the realisations that are now forcing themselves upon us to leave individualism behind and orient our lives towards solidarity in thought, word and deed. [1]
To begin with, let us agree to ask ourselves:
“What have I done today to help my neighbour?
What will I do tomorrow to relieve the suffering of the world?“
(La Révolution du monde des vivants et des morts, p. 442)
Whatever our answer, we can move forward and bring ourselves into harmony with the best of ourselves.
We are all capable of cooperating and of giving others concrete support in different ways. No gesture of mutual help is insignificant.
And our actions will be all the more enriched if we add to them the power of our thoughts of love and our prayers for the world, for each and every one.
By making solidarity a priority that unites us with our human brothers and sisters, we give our existence its deep meaning [2]:

a constant apprenticeship in solidarity, fraternity and mutual help.”
