The continuity of life
All religious and spiritual traditions have a specific conception of the hereafter that welcomes the soul at the death of the body.
According to Aumism, the souls of the departed continue to evolve in a hereafter called the “Column of Light”. It is “a school of life after death where, level after level, a transformation of mentalities takes place, allowing a happy reincarnation“: by developing the qualities of the Golden Age there [1], the soul will become capable of spreading peace on Earth. (Une Loi pour détruire le Mal, p. 421)
This continuity of learning in the visible and the invisible implies helping all beings without interruption, before as after physical death, through prayer and thought. Thus, when we face the suffering of bereavement, it is possible to go on showing care for those who are dear to us.
This continuity also encourages us to see the value of our present existence and to fill it as well as possible, keeping in our hearts and minds the meaning of the human journey:
“What is Evolution if not a few more steps, at each incarnation,
on the path of Divine Love, of Unity with each and every one,
of forgiveness of offences and of the greatest tolerance?” [2]
(La Révolution du monde des vivants et des morts, p. 26)
