The light of forgiveness
In many countries, it is customary to wear new clothes for the New Year. On the spiritual level, discarding worn, faded and soiled clothes symbolises a break with the past, which is often weighed down by guilt and resentment. It signifies the inner transformation that purifies heart and mind.
So from the end of this year, let us cut ourselves off from what prevents the light of love and peace from expressing itself fully within us: “For the oyster containing the divine pearl in each soul to open again and dispel the inner darkness, one must first forgive oneself and also forgive others for the harm suffered, partly through our own fault.” (L’Unité des Visages de Dieu, p. 225) [1]
God, in His infinite compassion, grants His Great Forgiveness even to the worst criminal who repents: “the chance of redemption is for all”. He grants it to all human beings so that they may emerge from the torments of division, make a fresh start towards unity and take part, against all odds, in building a responsible future that safeguards life on Earth.
It is up to us, starting today, to make sincere forgiveness of ourselves and others the luminous springboard of the coming year!
“Forgiveness is the Path leading to Universal Love.”
(La Loi d’Evolution des Ames, p. 511)
