No. 5 – THE WRITTEN TEACHING OF HIS HOLINESS LORD HAMSAH MANARAH AND DAILY LIFE
THE WRITTEN TEACHING OF HIS HOLINESS LORD HAMSAH MANARAH AND DAILY LIFE
SUMMARY
“The written work of His Holiness Lord HAMSAH MANARAH and daily life”. This work helps everyone, believers and non-believers alike, in the course of daily life, and puts the Wisdom of the Yogas and the New Divine Laws within everyone’s reach. Being in good health, learning to know oneself, regaining optimism and energy, cultivating thoughts of goodwill, developing more love, praying for all, repeating the Sound Om to purify oneself and to foster the evolution of the world, greater social justice, and an evolutionary commitment on this Earth and after death: such is the ideal it proposes. Prayers, techniques and meditations are offered to help us on this path that leads to God.
TALK
In the Bible, in Psalm 78:2, we read: “I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.” Echoing this sentence, Lord Hamsah Manarah writes: “I bring you the new wine of a Knowledge long lost.” (vol. 2, p. 12)
His Holiness Lord Hamsah Manarah is the author of 22 Books that put the Wisdom of the Yogas and the New Divine Laws within everyone’s reach. The Lord did not reserve His Teaching for a few. His written Work is intended for the whole of humanity, which is an expression of His Love for all.
It was in the early 1960s that Lord Hamsah Manarah finished writing His first Work, Naturopathie et Yoga, and His last Book, Périple d’un Yogi et Initié d’Occident, dates from June 1995. It is an immense Work in its scope, ranging from the details of daily life to the immensity of the Cosmos. The Lord Himself wrote: “If our Books shake up those who are asleep or too easily satisfied with themselves, so much the worse for their reactions; so much the better for the goal, for it is reached… These books were written not to please but to help.” (Yoga et Sagesse, p. 13)
The Lord came to help us in all the circumstances of daily life. His Teaching is suited to modern life and His aim is to relieve human suffering. This Work, which revolutionises our vision of the world and of our incarnation, contains prayers, meditations and techniques to put into practice in order to change our lives.
The work of His Holiness is organised according to three great periods of His Life:
- The first period, that of the Yogi, corresponds to the series of Books on the practical Yogas. This series comprises 8 Books plus 1: La Voix de Lumière, published in 1988, which gathers the oral Teachings recorded by a sister who was then living at the monastery.
- The second period, that of the Messiah, corresponds to the 4 Holy Books of the Revelation.
- The third period, that of the first HIEROKARANTINE, corresponds to the 5 Books of the New Laws.
There is of course continuity and unity between these three periods. It is a Work that can be read on several levels, according to the period and according to our own evolution and understanding at the time. Moreover, the same subjects are treated, broadened and taken up again at higher levels in the different Books; they all complement one another.
1) The first period, with the Books on the practical Yogas, published between 1960 and 1983
Lord Hamsah Manarah, who was an accomplished Yogi, begins His Teaching with the basics: our physical body, how to keep it healthy or regain health. As you can see on the cover of His first Book, Naturopathie et Yoga, the subtitle reads in three words: Health, healing, happiness.
Health is maintained or restored through the practice of the various Hatha Yoga postures. If you have little time to practise, you will find a chapter with exercises for the busy person and a selection of 9 postures, for example the “forward bend”, Paschimottanasana, which means “posture of the west”. This posture makes the spine more supple, prevents sciatica, and cures constipation and intestinal disorders. Or there is the tree pose, Vrikshasana, an important balancing posture. Through Hatha Yoga the aim is to tone the body, but also to remove the physical obstacles that line the spiritual path.
A Hatha Yoga session should begin with thoughts of peace and love towards all beings and must always end with relaxation.
Lord Hamsah Manarah recommends vegetarianism, adapted to each person and to circumstances. Being vegetarian is traditionally linked to respect for animals; it helps to master the passions and fosters non-violence and spiritual work.
Health is also linked to moral work and to the development of certain qualities such as tolerance, non-violence, benevolence, and love of oneself and of one’s neighbour, but also to the gradual elimination of faults such as a critical spirit, envy, jealousy, hatred, resentment and aggressiveness, which poison our organism and attract illness and trouble.
Le Yoga de la Vie Pratique, the second Book by Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, now in its 12th edition, offers moral and psychological work based on self-analysis and introspection: taking stock of one’s personality, analysing one’s dreams, observing oneself. In a word, learning to know oneself.
To regain optimism and energy, we can practise autosuggestion to cleanse the subconscious and make it positive, as well as breathing exercises called pranayama. On average we breathe 21,600 times a day! About 14,000 litres of air a day!
So we can use breathing, which is life, for greater physical well-being and to transform ourselves by absorbing, along with the prana, the qualities we wish to develop. The idea is to combine the practice of autosuggestion with the control of energy in order to reach the deep layers of the subconscious.
If you are willing, let us do this short breathing technique together:
On the in-breath, we affirm mentally:
I absorb prana, this universal force that brings me Energy, Dynamism, courage and success.
On holding the breath: I fix this energy within me.
On the out-breath:
I breathe out the air with all negative conditions and I settle into peace, calm, confidence and serenity.
In this same series of practical Yogas, the Book La Réintégration Divine par le Yoga gives a definition of non-violence (pp. 176-177):
“Non-violence, or ahimsa, consists in not harming others physically, through the misuse of speech, or mentally, through malicious and hateful thoughts.”
To advance gradually on the path of non-violence, we must strive to drive away the bad thoughts that cross the field of consciousness and replace them with wishes of happiness, prosperity and success for all, with thoughts full of generosity; to cultivate kindness and benevolence by considering the solidarity of all human beings; to forgive offences and drive out all resentment. Let us remember that every day about 60,000 thoughts cross the field of our consciousness!
This change of mentality and these transformations certainly pass through the mind, but their driving force is our heart, which rids itself of its dross and awakens to Love not only for human beings but also for plants, animals and things that seem inanimate: rocks, stones, mountains…
Is a spiritual master, a “Guru”, necessary for this work? The answer is in the Book Le Maître Spirituel et le Disciple. In the West the notion of “Guru” is often misunderstood, even regarded with suspicion. The Guru is in fact the one who dispels the darkness due to ignorance and awakens the inner master in the disciple. His Holiness Lord Hamsah Manarah, an authentic spiritual Master who experienced fusion in God and directed several monasteries, gives us advice on prudence and discernment and shares His experience with us.
2) The second period: the Lord as Messiah and Founder of Aumism, the universal religion, with the publication of the 4 Holy Books of the Revelation
L’Aumisme, la Doctrine de l’Âge d’Or was published in 1990. Aumism, the universal religion of unity, brings together souls of goodwill who wish to work for their own perfection and for the evolution of the world and the universe.
The Book opens with a study of the sound OM, that primordial sound, symbol of the name of the Supreme Consciousness. The beneficial influence of the sound Om and its various uses are explained there:
“Chant the AUM aloud and you will purify the atmosphere and crystallise good vibrations…
Chant the AUM softly; it will calm your mind, foster concentration and help healing.
Chant the AUM mentally and you will easily reach concentration, meditation and the inner strength that frees and delivers the soul.”
Frequent repetition of the sound OM, at any time, allows us to commune with God and to obtain Light and protection… but this sound must be uttered in a spirit of goodwill and love, not of resentment or ill intent.
Read this chapter and you too will be carried away by the poems on the sound OM and by the divine power of the images they use.
“If you want the Golden Age, chant the Om,
If you want to change your thoughts, chant the Om,
If you want to rise back to unity, chant the Om,”
advises the Lord (L’Aumisme, la Doctrine de l’Âge d’Or, p. 347).
The Golden Age of which Lord Hamsah Manarah speaks, and into which we are entering, is the Age of Unity, the Age of inner battle. It is therefore the age of tolerance, mutual respect, forgiveness of offences and acceptance of the faults of others.
It is the Age in which human beings take up again the path of prayer and evolution and leave behind a purely material life which, in the Iron Age, was centred on the pleasures of the human body.
It is the Age in which God incarnate reveals to people secrets for advancing more quickly, techniques and meditations for their own evolution and that of creation. For example, in chapter 9 of L’Aumisme, la Doctrine de l’Âge d’Or, the Lord speaks of our occult anatomy and of our two doubles: one beneath the feet and one above the head.
The double is “the dark counterpart of each person, created in the course of past incarnations” (p. 158). The plantar double beneath the feet is a ball and chain made up of our bad thoughts and actions; the aerial double, made up of 7 spheres above the head, is like a computer that holds the memories of our soul’s journey.
By chanting the sound Om and visualising a white light, we can cleanse these two doubles in order to be lightened, to emerge from suffering and to avoid falling back into the same mistakes again and again. Lord Hamsah Manarah thus gives the means to flourish fully on the individual level and to contribute to social harmony and planetary balance.
In L’Aumisme, la Doctrine de l’Âge d’Or, His Holiness Lord Hamsah Manarah also wrote a chapter entitled “The economic and social sphere of the Golden Age, the forms of injustice”, for technical progress on earth is dazzling but benefits only a small number. Yet “economic injustice,” says the Lord, “creates a planetary karma that sooner or later is paid by the whole planet…”
Much effort is therefore needed to eliminate poverty and economic and social injustice. Profit among the privileged will have to be reduced and a world organisation set up so that the poorest and least well-off countries are no longer exploited (see the example of fair trade). And the Lord continues a little further on (p. 283):
“I will force peoples, in their differences, to help one another and support one another in the difficulties that will multiply…”
Here too, look at what is happening in the news… The position of the Aumist religion is clear: true solidarity must operate at every level of society, and at the individual level Aumists must set the example of sharing, of the outstretched hand, of the gift that warms the heart.
“The Golden Age,” writes the Lord, “is humanitarian and social action that saves men and women from hunger, war, fear and anguish.” (Une Loi pour Détruire le Mal, p. 90)
3) The third period: the HIEROKARANTINE, the soul of the world
From 1990 to 1993, Lord Hamsah Manarah published a series of 5 Books, known as the Books of the New Laws, comprising 108 chapters in all. These Books contain the New Divine Laws and the moral principles of Aumism. To the same questions, “Who am I? Why am I incarnated?”, answers are given across the 5 volumes, with revelations specific to the new age.
The same subjects are taken up again and explored in depth: for example forgiveness, the way out that frees us from the past and from punishing ourselves, or how to overcome depression and stress, accept one’s body, free oneself from hatred, regain serenity and develop more love…
In the third volume, La Révolution du monde des vivants et des morts, published in July 1993, His Holiness Lord Hamsah Manarah reveals the transformations of the world of Life after death. This plane, invisible to human eyes, has been restructured with the creation of the earthly Column of Light, which gathers all the souls that have left matter.
Recently a friend said to me: “My mother has just gone into hospital. She is very old and the doctors give me little hope. It’s the first time I have been confronted with death.”
This is what I replied: “It’s a difficult moment for all of us; no one escapes the pain of separation.”
My worried friend then asked me: “But how do you see death?”
“Death is a natural phenomenon, a change of state. The soul continues its journey in the beyond.”
“You believe in reincarnation?”
“Yes, the soul goes through a succession of lives for its evolution. The physical body is only the vehicle of the soul.”
“But what happens in the beyond?”
“The Column of Light is the realm of life after death; it is a gigantic astral university. The soul will be shown a review of its past, but it will also be advised, guided and enlightened… The Column of Light allows the soul, once it has become aware of the errors of its past life, to be forgiven and to set out on the path of positive transformation by learning brotherhood, tolerance and solidarity.”
“But what can I do for my mother right now?”
“To help your mother effectively during this stage, you can repeat the sound OM while visualising her in a cocoon of white light, knowing that she hears you and finds peace. What matters is to have a benevolent attitude and to surround the person with your love…”
After his mother’s death, he told me that our conversation had helped him to come through this ordeal better.
Let us stress that if the soul refuses and wants to reincarnate in order to do evil, it will find this harder and harder.
Lord Hamsah Manarah writes:
“Souls that are too sinful will not be able to continue a cycle of lives devoted to evil and darkness… the number of luminous souls bringing to earth the Energies of the Golden Age of peace and brotherhood will grow year after year.” (vol. 4, p. 314)
This revolution of life after death necessarily gives rise to a new doctrine of life on earth, a new conception of the present as well as of the future.
But rest assured: the evolutionary path allows everyone to advance at their own pace, and a message of hope is brought by the last volume of the 5 Books of the New Laws, Le Flambeau d’Unité, published in December 1993. In it we find the texts of meditations accessible to all, in particular the text of the Aumist Meditation practised at the Public Service, which is open to everyone.
These 5 Books of the New Laws were written during the third period of the life of Lord Hamsah Manarah, that of the HIEROKARANTINE. This is both a function and a lineage: it is God incarnate, whose mission is to build the Pyramid Temple. This Temple is an architectural synthesis of the Temples of different religions, but also a receiver and transformer of cosmic Energies. This Temple is necessary for the balance of the earth.
In June 1995 the last Book by His Holiness Lord Hamsah Manarah was published: Périple d’un Yogi et Initié d’Occident.
This last Book holds a special place because it gives the reader some answers about Aumism and its Founder, since the truth has too often been distorted or hidden from the public… But the persecutions, rumours and slander directed at the Envoys of God are a process known in all traditions.
Conclusion:
The whole of the written work of His Holiness Lord Hamsah Manarah forms the sacred Corpus of the Universal Religion of Aumism.
These works, which reveal to us the Laws governing creation, also make available to us a knowledge and spiritual techniques that foster personal development, make it possible to cut the ties with the past, and open the way to the conquest of daily happiness and to spiritual realisation.
We will conclude with these two quotations from Lord Hamsah Manarah Himself about His Books:
“Know that reading these Works cannot fail to transform your soul.” (Le Flambeau d’Unité, p. 504)
“Such is the purpose of these 5 Works which, one day, I hope, will become like the Bible for Christians, the Koran for Muslims and the Bhagavad Gita for Hindus. I have come to bring the Law of Evolution, a new Ark of the Covenant with GOD.” (Le Flambeau d’Unité, p. 292)
