No. 6 – THE FOUNDER OF AUMISM: FROM YOGI TO MESSIAH, THE DIVINE COMPASSION
THE FOUNDER OF AUMISM: FROM YOGI TO MESSIAH, THE DIVINE COMPASSION
Before giving this lecture, I thought of people who have said to me:
“Your Spiritual Master’s Teaching really goes in the direction of tolerance and peace. That is what our times need. We agree. But all of a sudden… the Messiah! The Messiah! Now that is where we find it hard to follow you.”
This reaction is understandable. To begin with, it calls for a few clarifications:
– The word Yogi refers to someone who practises Yoga and renounces the distractions of the world to devote himself to prayer and asceticism; it is a life choice centred on union with the Divine. It was the choice of the Founder of Aumism throughout his journey, as a hermit, Spiritual Master, Superior of a monastery, Founder of a religion, and as Messiah.
– The title of Messiah corresponds to a Mission that was gradually revealed to him according to the Divine Order: that of Saviour in a world in danger of self-destruction. Let us note that the Divine Order is not the fruit of chance: in this life the Envoy rediscovers a Mission that he accepted long before and for which he prepared himself from life to life.
Consequently, there is no break. From the Yogi to the Messiah, the divine Compassion of the Servant of God remains the same. There is only an expansion in its expression, commensurate with the Mission he accepted to help humanity build the new Era.
We will therefore discuss the continuity of the divine Compassion in the journey of His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH along three lines of force which interlock, but which we will treat separately for the sake of clarity:
1 – the Mystical Offering
2 – the Ideal of Unity
3 – Love for all
But it goes without saying that divine Compassion surpasses human understanding and goes far beyond the approach I am proposing to you today.
I – THE MYSTICAL OFFERING
The Mystical Offering characterises the divine Compassion of the One who gave everything so that the change of Cycle might come about. It is the total gift of oneself for the service of all beings, the acceptance to serve the Divine Plans whatever they may be, without expecting anything for oneself.
His disciples are witnesses to it: His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH constantly set the example of this self-denial. And it is precisely the strength developed through the gift of self that enabled him to take on the superhuman responsibilities of the Envoy of the new times.
The Yogi offers the world his Fusion in God
After harsh ascetic practices in a cave in the Vaucluse, he experiences, and I quote, the “beatitude of being nothing more than a channel of Light expressing at every moment the one and only Will of the almighty God present in everyone.”[1] He offers his sublime elevation as one liberated while living for the evolution of humanity. But for himself he renounces the unspeakable joys of ecstasy in order to remain available to the human beings who need help.
The Yogi offers the world the renunciation of his hermit’s solitude
He agrees to become a Spiritual Master for those who thirst for Light. As Superior of the monastery of the Mandarom, the monks and the external disciples saw him lead meditations and ceremonies, give the Teaching and look after the progress of each person.
The Lord used to make rounds of the monastery. He would pass through the kitchens, the secretariat, the craft workshops, the building site of the moment, sometimes taking up a pickaxe to set the example. Of course, everyone present gathered around him and followed him. If someone wished to speak to him, he would say his famous “Tell me everything”, and at once one felt understood.
When the Lord had to take on the heavy function of Messiah, his solicitude for his disciples remained the same. They are witnesses to the continuity which led
– the Yogi to say: “I remain forever the Eternal Servant”[2]
– and the Messiah to say: “I am the Master of the Cycles, but to be the master of something means, above all, to be the selfless servant of the common cause.”[3]
The Messiah offers the world the Labour imposed by the change of Cycle in the invisible and the visible
– In the invisible
The Mission of His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH required him to accomplish what only the Divine Envoy could accomplish. He had to free the Earth from the hold of the dark forces that perpetuate the cycles of hatred.
“(…) The change of cycle began,” he says, “with gigantic invisible battles against the astral forces, superior in number but lacking the power of the Fire of the Word of God expressed in the Flesh.”[4]
To welcome the souls who, after the Battles, had rallied to God, He created through prayer a spiritual university where they must develop the qualities of the Golden Age in order to deserve to reincarnate. This is the Column of Light, which now constitutes the hereafter for deceased human beings.
Having won, through the power of the Divine Word, the indispensable victories over Evil, the Lord sets the example of equanimity and unfailing perseverance:
“What matters is to have accomplished this immense work of Redemption, whether it is recognised or not… We have acted with detachment and hope neither for gratitude nor for homage for the service rendered to humanities.”[5]
“I know that it is above all a long, very long-term work, which I will have to pursue from body to body, from life to life, from century to century…”[6]
– In the visible
The Mission of the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH required him to reveal himself to the world as the Messiah of the New Times. His liking for a hermit’s solitude made it difficult for him to accept this function, which was to put him at the forefront of the human stage. “God,” he says, “placed me under the obligation to manifest what He wanted me to be.”[7] Moreover, the Envoy who comes to help humanity, by clashing with habits and prejudices, suffers rejection and persecution from the intolerant of all sides and from those who profit from the forgetting of God.
We are witnesses to it: the Messiah needs the Strength of Love and Detachment carried to its highest level.
But, thus detached from all human expectation, the Lord knows, beyond the difficulties, one of the greatest joys, that of “serving the world without hope of glory or power…” And in the depths of his self-denial, he expresses the joy of the Realised Being. He sets the example of humour, which helps his disciples detach themselves from their own emotions and problems.
II – THE IDEAL OF UNITY
Another aspect of his infinite Compassion: the Lord comes to heal the Earth of the divisions that gnaw at it, by working for Unity. Answering the urgent call of the Earth, which can no longer bear its suffering, he comes to restore Unity in respect for differences, which alone can allow human beings to heal the wounds of contempt, hatred and violence and to build together a new Era of fraternity. To foster this change of mentality, the Lord has always been eager to reconcile the religions, because religious peace is the foundation of planetary peace.
The Yogi’s quest for Unity
The quest for Unity leads the Lord to encounter the different Traditions.
“The Envoy is on Earth,” he says, “to help the nations overcome their divisions and build their union. That is why God ordered me to quench my soul at all the spiritual sources of the West and the East.”[8] “I experimented with many techniques of prayer, meditation and visualisation, and with many sacred languages too, only to discover at last that beyond the religious rainbow there was only one single divine Diamond…”[9]
The foundation of the Mandarom and of the Aumist religion
To bear witness to this fundamental Unity, he founded the monastery of the Mandarom and Aumism, the religion of the Unity of the Faces of God, which were presented to you yesterday.
The Revelation of the Cosmoplanetary Messiah of Synthesis
Then, in 1990, bearing witness in person to the Unity of the Faces of God, the Lord revealed himself at the dawn of the Golden Age as the Cosmoplanetary Messiah of Synthesis.
– Why “Cosmoplanetary”?
This title recalls that God works unceasingly to maintain balance on Earth as in the whole of Creation. Otherwise, would He be God?
– Why “Messiah of Synthesis”?
Different Traditions await their Messiah under various Names (the Christ, the Buddha Maitreya, the Mahdi, Melkitsedeq, Kalki…).
If the Messiah of the New Times had incarnated in a single Tradition, the others would have thought “he has not come for us”, and this would not have called religious conflicts into question. So, on 22 August 1990, he revealed himself as the Messiah who has come for all religions at once. That is what “Messiah of Synthesis” means.
During a historic Ritual, after putting on the crowns symbolising the different awaited Envoys, he put on the Tiara symbolising the Unity of them all, the Unity of the Faces of God. “To prevent human beings in the future from using the multiplicity of the Faces of God on Earth as a pretext for quarrelling, all these Faces have fused into a single Face, that of the Messiah…”[10]
But the Lord never acts for himself: “It matters little to me to be recognised as the Messiah; in truth, the only thing that counts for me is the Unity of religions.”[11]
III – LOVE FOR ALL BEINGS
Love at its highest degree abolishes the boundaries of separateness; it is the feeling of unity with all that lives.
“Everything is part of me,”[12] the Yogi fused in God was already saying. The Messiah continues to express the feeling of unity with the Evolutionary Pyramid of the kingdoms of nature, where the creative Word OM “beats in every mineral, in every plant, in every animal and every human being.”[13]
But given the time allotted, we will focus here on the Messiah’s Love for all human beings.
The Messiah’s Love for all human beings
Like the Yogi, the Messiah expresses his unity with each one of us:
“Our essence is alike; I am in you, you are in me.”[14] “You and I are One on all planes.”
That is why, in affirming His Divinity, he affirms ours.
“I am Love for all and forever,” he says.[15]
It is therefore to all human beings that the Messiah grants his help, so that they may work together to save the Earth.
– The Messiah grants all the Forgiveness that frees from the past
The Lord has always set the example of Forgiveness at its highest level. In Le Maître spirituel et le disciple, he writes: “The man of compassion fears the effects of evil more for those who do it than for himself.”[16] Twenty years later, in the face of the intolerant, the Messiah calms the anger of his disciples and asks them to pray for their evolution. In October 1990, he grants all human beings the Great Forgiveness, whatever their past sins. And he accompanies them so that, thus freed, they can make a fresh start.
– The Messiah gives all the means of autonomy
“My wish is that you manage to take charge of yourselves,” the Spiritual Master used to say to his disciples.[17] The Messiah makes the same appeal to the whole of humanity. Some think that the coming of the Messiah must settle all problems at the wave of a magic wand. But if he restored peace without human beings changing their mentality, it could not last…
“I show you the way,” he says, “but cannot take it in your place. Do not refuse the effort to be made.”[18] “As long as hatred remains in your hearts, this vision of a united and caring planet will remain a dream.”[19]
That is why the Messiah gives us precious tools so that we can take charge of our future and that of the planet:
– He offers all the Knowledge and the techniques that make it possible to transform oneself. Through his Books, he teaches us the Laws of the Golden Age, which must be respected in order to be happy and to make others happy.
– He communicates the divine Energy to us by transmitting the OM, the Creative Word, whose repetition develops love and fosters Unity with God present in everyone.
He tells us: “Refuse self-destruction!” “Accept the Golden Age.” “The Earth must be saved through a revolution of mentalities.”[20]
But he leaves us freedom of choice. In what is called the Judgement of the End of Times, God makes us actors of the future; He merely ratifies our present choice, our answer to this question:
“For or against the Golden Age.”
The choice of the Golden Age, let us be clear, is that of the conquest of true happiness.
IN CONCLUSION
Let us remember that the Messiah came to restore the Golden Age. His Mission is to reconcile and bring together religions and peoples, and to help us build together the new Golden Age society of peace, Love, fraternity and solidarity. The breath of infinite Compassion that ensures the continuity of this Divine Labour, this long-term Labour, can be seen in two extracts that I will read to you in closing.
The first, taken from the poem entitled “Mystical Offering”, was published in 1972 in Mémoires d’un Yogi.
“I have such tenderness for all creatures
that I would like to join
in all that could fight the pain of others,
and exchange, if need be, my happiness for their sorrows.
I have more joy in giving than in receiving;
for me, the greatest gift is the gift of one’s being.
I have left every dwelling of the world to serve,
expecting nothing of human beings, hoping for nothing.
I have accepted as my mission to help the beings
seeking to cross the ocean of existences… (…)”
The second, taken from L’Unité des Visages de Dieu (p. 40), was published at the time of the Revelation of the Cosmoplanetary Messiah.
“In Unity with the billions upon billions of expressions of the Divine on the billions upon billions of planets,
I offer my Heart to relieve human suffering.
In truth, with the billions upon billions of planetary Bodies of God,
I offer my Soul, my Word, to regenerate all the suffering Earths (…)”
