Strengthening one’s dynamism
Remaining or becoming “a radiant being despite an advanced age” means cultivating the dynamism that makes it possible to fight gloom and move forward in every situation. In this way one can prolong one’s youth and pass on the joy of living to others. [1]
Of course, our morale fluctuates with events. That is natural, there is no point in feeling guilty! Fortunately, various complementary means help to strengthen within us a dynamism that will radiate around us: keeping the body vigorous (healthy food, enough sleep, fresh air, regular exercise, medical care if needed) and the mind too (optimistic thoughts, stimulating reading and interactions, plans for the future). Making successes as well as failures drivers of progress. Developing the strength of altruism and love. Recharging through meditation and prayer [2], including the repetition of the OM…
With this in mind, let us share with those who wish a breathing technique taken from Le Yoga de la Vie pratique, p. 232:
Exercise for regeneration [3]
– While breathing in slowly and gradually, think:
“I absorb Prana, this Universal Force which brings me energy, dynamism, health and happiness.”
– While holding the breath, think:
“I fix within me this energy which regenerates all my cells.”
– While breathing out, affirm:
“I reject every cause of disturbance, every negative condition.”
– Pause very briefly, and affirm:
“I become aware of the growth of my radiance.”

[2] See post no. 21, “Forces of Light”.
[3] See the note on p. 233: holding the breath is not recommended for people with heart conditions.
