THE NEW ERA ACCORDING TO AUMISM: THE GOLDEN AGE

The purpose of this ninth International Colloquium of Aumism is to explain, according to the Teaching of His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, how we can build together a New Era of peace, fraternity, unity, happiness and material and spiritual prosperity, to which humanity aspires. The main purpose of the Aumist religion is to make available to all human beings, regardless of nationality, culture or political, philosophical or religious opinions, the means to build this new Era, described as the Golden Age.

In this talk we will address the following points:

I – The notion of Era in general

II – The Law of Cycles in the Aumist religion

III – Why restore the Golden Age?

IV – How can the Golden Age be restored on Earth?

V – The Diamond Age

I – THE NOTION OF ERA IN GENERAL

In the universe, nothing is static and fixed; everything is in perpetual movement and becoming. This gigantic activity of life is universal. In various forms, it concerns the whole of creation. This manifestation of life is not anarchic. It is subject to a certain number of rules and laws, often cyclical in nature. These cycles, or eras, unfold over extremely variable periods of time. For example, planet Earth has known cycles that lasted several thousand and sometimes millions of years. This is the case of the geological Eras and of the climatic alternations, with periods of planetary warming and glaciation.

These Eras do not concern only the temporal world; they also exert their influence on the subtler world of the spirit. Certain religious traditions of the East and the West refer to them. This is the case of “ancient Greece” with the age of Aquarius, and of the Hindu tradition with the “Yugas” or cosmic Ages. As an example, we will mention the Eastern version, which subdivides and classifies the unfolding of life into four Ages: the Golden Age, the Silver Age, the Copper Age and the Iron Age, which extend over very long periods. An Era is a determined period of time with particular characteristics.

II – THE LAW OF CYCLES IN THE AUMIST RELIGION

The Aumist religion takes up, under the name “Law of Cycles”, the classification of the Eastern Tradition. But here, each Age is defined by the state of mind that the majority of human beings adopt during the period in question. And it is on the change in humanity’s state of mind that the passage from one Age to another depends.

Therefore, it is not from the outside that the four Ages of the Aumist religion condition and influence humanity. It is from within, according to the mental attitude adopted by each human being.

Since thought is creative (“to think is to act”), human beings are the authors of the Age in which they live. “Creation is an immense spiritual school… and the Law of Cycles governs the evolution of souls.”[1]

Here is a summary of the mental characteristics of each of these Ages according to Aumism.

The Golden Age

The Golden Age is an ideal state in which all the humanities of the cosmos live at their birth. “For at the origin of Creation… the first season is indeed the springtime of the Golden Age and of Unity.”[2] The Golden Age world is a world free of enmity, ill will, suffering, conflict and fratricidal wars. This way of life is the happy result of the close proximity and harmony of the humanities with the creative energies of God.

But the Golden Age way of life is not fixed for eternity. The Aumist religion teaches that the Golden Age lasts as long as the humanities respect the divine Laws that govern the life and harmonious evolution of all the kingdoms of nature. It is the transgression of these divine Laws that compromises the Golden Age and causes the fall of the humanities into the worlds of involution of the Silver, Copper and Iron Ages.

Certain sacred texts mention this question. This is the case in the Bible (Genesis 3), with the account of the garden of Eden and “the original fall”. This account describes the end of a paradisiacal way of life, in other words the end of a Golden Age. It is through the transgression of the divine Laws that guaranteed the permanence of this way of life, of this El Dorado, that the humanity of that time, symbolised by Adam and Eve, put an end to the Golden Age, to purity and to “original innocence”.[3]

The Silver Age

After observing and respecting over a long period of time the rules and laws that guarantee the permanence of the Golden Age, the Saints, the Sages and human beings grow weary and long for an illusory rest. It is this passivity and this slackening of effort that alter the energies of the Golden Age and draw humanity into the Silver Age.

“The Silver Age is the mental Age of collective inertia, of inner sleep, of selfishness, of the refusal of effort and of struggle.”[4] A general demobilisation that leads to the deterioration of living conditions. It is not yet the Age of wars, but the happy balance and harmony of the Golden Age and of Unity are broken. “From the Golden Age to the Silver Age there is only one step, that of forgetting one’s responsibilities and duties towards creation”[5] and towards humanity.

During the Silver Age, human beings forget to pray to help the evolution of all the kingdoms of nature. They forget to pull out the climbing ivy of humanity’s evil inclinations. All gardeners know that a neglected garden very quickly withers.

The Copper Age

When the kingdoms of nature, minerals, plants, animals and human beings, are no longer “illuminated by the selfless prayers of the Sages and Initiates”, who have become averse to effort, the evolutionary movement is reversed. “The Law of Evolution becomes a Law of Involution… which sweeps everything along in its path” and plunges humanity into the Copper Age. Under the negative influence of this involutive process, human beings move further and further away from their inner God, present in everyone. As “nature abhors a vacuum”, humanity compensates for the void left by God with the fascination that the conquest and exploration of matter exert on minds. This attraction translates into an unbridled development of science, considered as a body of knowledge supposed to solve all problems. This illusion of “happiness without God” leads to a “moral and spiritual decline”, to science without conscience and to an “increasingly open rebellion against God”.

The Copper Age is the mental Age of unreason, in which the humanities, having become unaware of their duties and responsibilities, “experience the abuses of science”. It is the Age of wars fuelled by ever more sophisticated weapons. It is the age in which humanity, deprived of the protective shield of the divine Energies, finds itself exposed to every danger. Let us recall that the protective shield is one of the major attributes of the statue of the Cosmic Christ at the Mandarom.

The Iron Age

After the Copper Age, the degradation continues inexorably, causing humanity to fall into the Iron Age, which is the bottom of the abyss. “Humanity cannot fall any lower into involution.” In the Iron Age, souls experience the cold night without God and the forgetting of the higher and eternal truths. This mental amnesia turns souls into robots and chains them to the duality of hells, artificial paradises and drugs. Let us recall this crucial point: for the Aumist religion, the four Ages are states of mind.

III – WHY RESTORE THE GOLDEN AGE?

Humanity must restore the Golden Age on Earth to put an end to the mental patterns of the three Ages of involution, which generate suicidal behaviour leading to its destruction. Obsessed with profit and having become unaware of its duties, our humanity forgets that planet Earth is a living being whose laws and rules of life must be respected, on pain of serious consequences and disorders. Men, having become irresponsible, must stop polluting the soil, groundwater and the atmosphere. The Planet is suffering; it reacts and revolts against the senseless behaviour of human beings. Natural disasters are multiplying. Unknown diseases appear and endanger life; social and financial crises ruin states and citizens. So many trials that make humanity suffer and gravely threaten life, serenity and peace.

“The state of affairs at the end of the Iron Age has become so dark and gloomy” that, in the absence of a vigorous and salutary reaction, the planetary ship is heading towards the self-destruction of humanity, the victim of its own suicidal behaviour. The only way to avoid this outcome is to reverse the situation and to unite the efforts of the majority of human beings to rebuild the vanished values of the Golden Age.

Humanity must become aware that the deterioration of living conditions, and behaviour contrary to the laws of universal evolution, can lead to a fatal outcome. This is not a utopian vision: contemporary science identifies, in the distant past, several disappearances of life on Earth. A new extinction of species is said to be under way at present. Science is not alone in raising this problem; we have seen that the sacred texts of humanity mention the question. Men must become aware that the world in which they live is largely conceived, imagined and organised by themselves. It has been so since the beginning of time, from the world of the caves to that of the industrial era. Human beings are therefore responsible for their living conditions and their future.

IV – HOW CAN THE GOLDEN AGE BE RESTORED ON EARTH?

To restore the Golden Age on Earth and ensure humanity peace, serenity and material and spiritual prosperity, humanity must eliminate from the mental sphere of the planet the perverse and devastating effects of the excesses of the Silver, Copper and Iron Ages. Humanity must exclude from its field of consciousness the Silver Age mentality of inertia and rest, which demobilises humanity and makes it incapable of properly fulfilling its duties and responsibilities towards the Laws of life.

Humanity must remove from its field of consciousness the perverse effects of the Copper Age, centred on the exploration and mastery of matter, with the exclusive pre-eminence of reason, which is not infallible. Science is useful in many fields, but it must not exclude the role of the spirit, on pain of imbalances harmful to humanity, to creation and to life. Matter and spirit are the two facets of one and the same reality. Science cannot explain everything and will never by itself be able to solve all the problems facing humanity.

Humanity must also eliminate the Iron Age mentality, which is the dominant mentality of the present time. To clean up the situation, an end must be put to the frenzied egocentrism of human beings, to the unleashing of violence, to corruption, to totalitarianism, to armed conflicts, to the decline of morals and to wrongdoing of all kinds. Young people and adults must strengthen their Inner Self and their Supreme Self, in order to be able to protect themselves from the vagaries of life and from the artificial, illusory and suicidal paradises of drugs. To restore the Golden Age, every human being has the duty to eliminate from their field of consciousness the “evil inclinations” that pollute and pervert human nature.

It is out of Love for humanity, and to preserve it from a fatal outcome, that the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH founded the Aumist religion at a decisive turning point in the history of the planet. The Mission entrusted to Aumism is to remind an incredulous humanity of the salutary laws that guarantee its future and its happiness.

In this spirit, the Aumist religion has the Mission:

  • to promote a Golden Age mentality that allows humanity to forge fulfilling living conditions for itself,
  • to provide the spiritual, ethical and psychological formation of the human being in order to balance and harmonise its fundamental polarities of body, soul and spirit,
  • to spread over the whole Earth the creative and saving energy of the Divine Word AUM.

The sound OM or AUM is the primordial sound, “the creative Word of the Universe, the sound that makes one transcend duality and the multiplicity of appearances, to lead to the Unity of the Absolute, to fusion in God”.[6] The Mission of Aumism is also to recall that the Golden Age is not the age of rest but that of saving effort.

Even if a revolution of mentalities of this scale and nature is not easy to bring about, the situation is not hopeless for all that. Everything depends on the capacity and determination of each human being to react positively. His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH places human beings before their responsibilities and in the face of this formidable alternative: either to put the situation right, or to let themselves be dragged into the abyss of self-destruction.

But nothing can be lastingly and authoritatively imposed on humanity by any power whatsoever. Past and recent history shows that no constraint can be imposed on peoples against their deepest aspirations. The adoption of the Golden Age mentality and behaviour can only be the result of an awakening and an individual approach. It is mainly through the evolution of consciences that a true evolution of the human community takes place. When the mind is freed from the perverse conditioning of the three Ages, Iron, Copper and Silver, consciousness becomes free and open to the fundamental principles and Laws of the Golden Age.

Foremost among these principles is:

“THE UNITY OF THE FACES OF GOD”, which is the “foundation” and the one and only dogma of the Aumist religion.

Whatever names are given to God, whatever His different Incarnations in the course of the history of humanity, He remains, from the beginning to the end of time, always and invariably the same. An essential truth for the reconciliation and unity of peoples and religions.

In this spirit, the Aumist religion also makes available to those who wish it an initiatic order and a religious structure comprising faithful, a clergy and a monastic order. These structures offer each person, according to their choices, a formation and the possibility of taking part in a collective spiritual work that fosters the evolution of the world and of humanity. Five sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, Renewal, Marriage and Transition) remind human beings of the purpose of life, which is to evolve towards God present in everyone. These sacraments also allow each person to make the stages of life sacred.

To foster the emergence of a Golden Age humanity, the foundation of the New Era, His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH also makes available to all his Teaching, comprising 22 books.

This Teaching reveals the forgotten history of humanity as well as the deep workings of the human soul. It offers a set of “original meditation techniques”, evolutionary spiritual exercises and “prayers of exceptional effectiveness” that help to rediscover unity with God and guide those who wish it towards Spiritual Liberation.

This Teaching offers everyone, believers or atheists, practical methods for restoring peace within oneself and around oneself. Numerous techniques allow each person, according to their way of life, their choices and their personal goals, to move towards greater happiness. Each person can thus learn to free themselves from the faults inherent in the human person, to escape the possible hold of drugs, to escape stress, in a word, to make a complete success of their life.

V – THE DIAMOND AGE

We will close by mentioning an important perspective in Aumism: His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH teaches that beyond the Golden Age there is a Diamond Age. Those who manage to rise to this sublime state “will see all pain, all illusions and all suffering come to an end.”[7]

One can attain the Diamond Age even while living in an Iron Age world. Those who, through their sustained efforts, attain this state become pure “extensions of God” in the service of all their human Brothers and Sisters.

In conclusion, let us remember this quotation from His Holiness the Lord HAMSAH MANARAH:[8]

“IN OUR HANDS LIES THE FUTURE OF THE EARTH, ITS DESTINY AND THE CRYSTALLISATION OF THE GOLDEN AGE.”
