No. 7 – AUMISM, RELIGION OF PEACE
AUMISM, RELIGION OF PEACE
All human beings long for peace. Despite this, wars have existed for a very long time and are, alas, endemic. There is not a single people, not a single country in the world that has not at some point in its history been a victim of war.
If the Aumist religion is holding a conference on the theme of world peace, it is because it cares about the well-being of humanity. It would be unthinkable for a universal and peaceful religion such as Aumism to remain indifferent to the happiness and peace of humankind. All religions should ban war and work for peace, which has been far from the case over the past centuries and millennia.
In his book Le Flambeau d’Unité[1], His Holiness Lord HAMSAH MANARAH writes on this subject:
“One cannot prove one’s faith by destroying that of others. One cannot claim to love God while killing one’s neighbour to defend one’s faith.”
The true GOD, who is Love, has never asked human beings to kill one another, least of all in His name. Shedding blood in the name of GOD is the worst of aberrations, even if, regrettably, it still happens today. The unity of men and the unity of nations cannot come about without the unity of religions. One of the missions of Aumism is to help humanity break free from the spiral of hatred and division in order to establish a universal Peace, or Golden Age, in which everyone may have the opportunity to move serenely towards perfection and the supreme goal of life, which is spiritual Liberation and Realisation.
Every human being must become aware that war and Peace are not the sole responsibility of politicians and heads of State. Every human being bears a share of responsibility for the conflicts under way. Before it becomes a reality on the battlefield, war is born and takes shape in the minds of men. Therefore, to establish peace, the roots of war must first of all be removed from the minds of men. A revolution of this kind can only be the result of a suitable education that restores each person’s responsibilities. The main purpose of this education must be to harmonise, pacify and reconcile human beings with everything that lives and exists within Creation. In Aumist terms, it is a matter of restoring the Golden Age on Earth.
In this talk we will discuss the following points:
- 1. The Law of Cycles and the Golden Age;
- 2. The necessary intervention of a Divine Envoy;
- 3. The Teaching of the Messiah for restoring peace in the world.
I. THE LAW OF CYCLES AND THE GOLDEN AGE
The Aumist religion teaches that the whole of Creation is governed by a law with four main phases, known as the “Law of Cycles”.
The four phases or Ages of the Law of Cycles are mental states that follow one another without interruption in the following descending order:
- 1. The Golden Age of perfection, peace, happiness and serenity;
- 2. The Silver Age of weariness, rest and selfishness;
- 3. The Copper Age of science without conscience;
- 4. The Iron Age of divisions, wars and the danger of self-destruction.
The Law of Cycles is in reality an “immense spiritual school”, a law of justice that sanctions the fall of humanities that cut themselves off from God through their “bad tendencies”. Conversely, “a humanity that raises its vibratory rate creates favourable conditions for reaching the higher stage of cyclical evolution”.[2]
THE GOLDEN AGE
The term Golden Age, which is in fairly common use, refers mentally and spiritually to an Age “that transcends the notions of race, class, nation, civilisation and religion”: an age in which humanity is united, nations stand together and wealth is shared. The Golden Age is an age of perfection in which “souls are stimulated towards their inner summit”, so as to allow as many human beings as possible to reach the state of “Peace and harmony” in which war and suffering no longer have any place.
The Messiah HAMSAH MANARAH reveals that the planet Earth has already known the Golden Age in a distant past: a time when humanity, respectful of divine laws and the laws of nature, lived in fraternity, justice and peace, knowing neither misfortune, nor illness, nor the throes of death. An idyllic situation to which all beings aspire. But if human beings no longer choose to make the efforts needed to maintain it, this harmony deteriorates. The humanity of the Golden Age then slowly falls towards “the abyss of the night without God”. Let us now see how and why this deterioration and this fall came about.
THE SILVER AGE
To maintain the Golden Age on Earth, the Initiates and the Sages must absolutely protect it from any form of regression. To achieve this, they must:
- 1. Pray unceasingly for the evolution of the kingdoms of nature;
- 2. Tirelessly pull up the climbing ivy of humanity’s bad tendencies.
But after several centuries and millennia of this diligent work, the Initiates, the Sages and the Saints grew weary and longed for an illusory rest. It was this nonchalance and this slackening of effort that altered the Golden Age and plunged humanity into the Silver Age. It was not yet the age of wars, but the happy balance and harmony of the Golden Age of Unity had been broken.
“From the Golden Age to the Silver Age there is only one step, that of forgetting duties and responsibilities, which leads to laziness, inertia, selfishness, weariness and the division of the Lights of God.”[3]
THE COPPER AGE
The inertia of the Silver Age disrupted evolution, which became unable to stimulate beings on the path of progress and spiritual fulfilment. This perversion drew human beings away from their inner God, present in everyone. Forgetting God left a void that humanities sought to fill through the conquest and exploration of matter, supposed to solve every problem. This illusion gave rise to “a science without God or conscience” and to a moral and physical decline, which brought about humanity’s fall into the Copper Age.
The Copper Age is the Age of unreason, in which humanities, unaware of their responsibilities, experience the abuses of science. It is the age of wars fuelled by ever more sophisticated weapons.
THE IRON AGE
After the Copper Age, the deterioration continued inexorably, causing humanity to fall into the Iron Age, which is the bottom of the abyss. Humanity cannot sink any lower into involution. In the Iron Age, souls experience the cold night without God and the forgetting of higher truths. This amnesia turns souls into robots and chains them to the duality of artificial hells and paradises.
Obsessed with profit and unaware of its duties, humanity forgets that the planet Earth is a living being whose laws and rules of life must be respected, on pain of serious disorders. People pollute the atmosphere, the groundwater and the soil. The Planet suffers from human behaviour and rebels. Natural disasters, famines, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, earthquakes, devastating cyclones and nuclear accidents claim many victims. Unknown diseases endanger life, and social and financial crises ruin States and citizens. So many trials that make humanity suffer and seriously threaten serenity and peace.
“The state of affairs at the end of the Iron Age has become so dark and gloomy” that, without a vigorous and salutary reaction, the planetary ship is heading towards the self-destruction of humanity.
To understand its error and change its mentality, humanity had to be faced with this formidable alternative: either put the situation right, or let itself be drawn into the abyss of self-destruction and extinction.
II. THE NECESSARY INTERVENTION OF A DIVINE ENVOY
The Iron Age mentality is so far removed from the Golden Age mentality that it is very difficult for an Iron Age humanity to cross, alone and by its own means, the distance that separates it from the Golden Age state of consciousness. Aumists are not so naive as to believe that a revolution of this nature and scale can be achieved with a single wave of a magic wand. Yet humanity is not abandoned to its sad fate and to the challenges it must face. When it goes through a period so difficult that the life and future of the planet are in danger, God, or the Universal Consciousness, intervenes to bring help. This act of compassion and protection takes the form of the intercession of a specially commissioned Guide, Messenger or MESSIAH. The history of humanity records several examples of such saving interventions over time and among all peoples. Among them are the Buddha, Abraham, Moses, Christ, Muhammad, the Prophets, certain Saints, and others.
As the famous verse of the Bhagavad Gita (IV, 7) says: “Whenever the spiritual Law declines and injustice rises, an Envoy of the heavenly planes descends in person for the protection of the good and the destruction of the wicked. To restore order, He takes birth from Age to Age.”
In our time, it is to His Holiness Lord HAMSAH MANARAH that the Heavenly Powers have entrusted this noble Mission. To save the planet from the dangers threatening it, the Messiah comes to reveal to humanity a Teaching founded on the rules to be respected in order to restore the Golden Age, on “the moral and spiritual evolution of the world and of the universes”, and on the practice of prayer and of “optimistic, fraternal, unifying and constructive thoughts”.
As we will see in the rest of this talk, the Mission of the MESSIAH consists in restoring the foundations of the UNITY of religions, peoples and nations in one language, around the same throne of the Absolute, the one GOD.
III. THE TEACHING OF THE MESSIAH FOR RESTORING PEACE IN THE WORLD
The MESSIAH came to teach humanity the course to follow in order to restore the Golden Age and establish universal peace on Earth. As the main elements of this teaching have been presented during this Conference, we will confine ourselves to recalling the most important ones. First among them is the Unity of the Faces of God.
THE UNITY OF THE FACES OF GOD
With the UNITY of the FACES of GOD, the Messiah HAMSAH MANARAH restores the truth about God. Human beings must in no case be misled by the different names and conceptions that peoples have given to God over the millennia. Beyond these illusory appearances, it is always one and the same reality. Within Creation, there is only one and the same GOD. This truth makes absurd the interreligious oppositions and confrontations that humanity endures. It helps to eliminate all forms of religious discrimination, intolerance, fanaticism and sectarianism, in order to establish a New Era of synthesis, Unity, harmony and peace on Earth.
THE TEMPLE PYRAMID
The Temple Pyramid existed at the origin of Creation. The Aumist religion has received the Mission of rebuilding this Temple on Earth to crystallise the concept of the Unity of the Faces of God. This Temple will harmonise and direct spiritual energies towards the evolution, spiritual Liberation and Divine Reintegration of humanity, in keeping with the motto: “Temple Pyramid of Unity, humanity reconciled”. As such, the Temple PYRAMID is an important element of the Law of Evolution and of peace.
THE LAW OF EVOLUTION
The MESSIAH HAMSAH MANARAH came to restore the Law of Evolution, illustrated in Aumism by the Evolutionary Pyramid of the Kingdoms of Nature. If the Law of Evolution did not exist, no improvement of creation, of human beings, of human societies and of nature, essential to establishing the Golden Age on Earth, would be possible. The Law of Evolution implies that everything in the universe aims to reach the next level. This law is the “engine” of Creation, which stimulates all forms of life in the direction of progress. The Law of Evolution implies the evolution of consciousness and mentalities, which determine the character and behaviour of human beings in life and within societies. This evolution does not concern only the physical world of incarnation; it also concerns the evolution of souls after the death of the body.
THE COLUMN OF LIGHT
In Aumism, death in the ordinary sense of the word does not exist. Death is only a “change of state”. It “is the continuation on the astral plane of life on the physical plane”: the post-mortem world takes the form of a Column of Light, which is a great spiritual university allowing souls to evolve, to rise back to God and to be trained in the rules and laws of the Golden Age.[4] When this training is complete, the souls that deserve it reincarnate on Earth to put this new knowledge at the service of humanity. Thus, with the Column of Light, the Peace of the Golden Age will gradually be established on Earth.
THE MORAL LAWS OF THE GOLDEN AGE
In addition to the aspects we have just mentioned, the Aumist religion emphasises a number of moral Laws of the Golden Age. Among them, let us recall the Law of Forgiveness and the Law of Sharing.
The Law of Forgiveness[5]
This important Law first of all implies that each person must forgive themselves “the harm done to their neighbour in deeds, words and thoughts”. Then one must forgive one’s enemies the harm they have “done in deeds, words and thoughts”. Every day, enemies must be blessed, “asking that the Light be in their hearts and minds”.
“Forgiveness is the path that leads to Universal Love… It opens the hearts and minds of those who drink from it.” However, forgiving does not mean becoming a doormat! Applying the Law of Forgiveness amounts to turning an enemy into a friend, sowing reconciliation around oneself and thus, step by step, establishing a world of harmony and peace that can save the Earth from self-destruction.
The Law of Sharing[6]
The Law of Sharing implies that know-how, knowledge, and material and spiritual achievements must be shared with one’s neighbour. This Law rules out any form of selfishness at any level whatsoever.
“This Law of Sharing is one of the most important to respect, and it must be applied at every stage of life, enabling Society to live in Unity.”
This solidarity between generations, peoples, races and nations can only hasten the coming of a peaceful humanity founded on fraternity and peace.
CONCLUSION
Since wars have their roots in the minds of men, realism is called for. To establish Peace in the world, each person must eliminate from their mind all the causes of conflict and war that reside there. This process is not spontaneous; it requires determination, a method and sustained effort. Carrying out this inner and individual revolution is a vital choice that is an integral part of the Law of Evolution. It is a combat with oneself, waged without weapons of war and without shedding blood.
It is in no way a matter of conducting militant action on the world and society; it is a matter of giving priority to action on oneself in order to establish an ethic of individual responsibility. It is to help humanity achieve this that the MESSIAH HAMSAH MANARAH founded the Aumist religion, whose doctrine includes the Law of Cycles, the Unity of the Faces of God, the Temple Pyramid of Unity, the Law of Evolution of Souls with the Evolutionary Pyramid of the Kingdoms of Nature, the Column of Light of the post-mortem world, the Moral Laws of the Golden Age and a great many other elements that cannot all be mentioned in a single talk.
The Messiah HAMSAH MANARAH warns humanity:
“I Have come to bring the Law of Evolution, the new Ark of the Covenant with God.”
“Evolution leads to God; involution can only lead to dissolution, to chaos, to nothingness!”[7]
