The elite of humanity consists of the few individuals who have managed, despite the trials of existence, to achieve a deep harmony between material success and spiritual elevation. To help a greater number of men and women rise to the level of this elite, Swami Hamsananda wrote this “practical” book. He did so after thousands of hours of meditation, mindful of the two aims he set himself for ever: self-denial and service.
His intention is to guide those, still numerous, who grope about in doubt and indecision. Contemporary man is subject to all kinds of tensions due to the extraordinary nature of this pivotal period between two centuries. This book is thus a contribution to the effort to answer man’s aspiration to a better life. The author hopes that applying his advice will make it possible: for young people to prepare for lasting success while remaining in good health; to restore courage to those who struggle in isolation; to support the hesitant efforts of those who lack self-confidence; to encourage those with a failure complex to regain hope and confidence; and to help those who have succeeded materially without being happy to discover the true meaning of earthly existence.
May this generous gift of the Master find the response it deserves among all men and women of worth who are determined no longer to be led by blind forces but, on the contrary, to reflect and constantly lead the life that will allow them to reach the blossoming of their personality.
