RELIGION AND NON-VIOLENCE IN DAILY LIFE: Theme of the 2006 Symposium
Presentation
At a time when confrontation and violence (including violence of a religious nature) challenge each one of us, Aumism, the Universal Religion of the Unity of the Faces of God founded by His Holiness Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, advocates non-violence.
For Aumism, far from being passivity, non-violence properly understood is won through individual awareness: it must be exercised in thought and in action, towards oneself, towards others and towards the environment. Understood in this way, it becomes a factor of individual and social balance.
It is also the basis of true spiritual progress, the ultimate goal being the Fusion of man in God, the total experience of Unity and of divine Compassion.
During this Symposium, advice and techniques offered by the Aumist religion will be presented to help us escape the spiral of violence, become united in solidarity and contribute to planetary peace through the acts of daily life. The question facing us all is this: do we want to bequeath to the children of the Earth a planet at peace, that is to say, a planet that bears life?
Men and women of goodwill, more and more of you want to take the future of the planet into your hands and work for future generations. Whatever your opinions, atheists or believers, you are welcome in this space for reflection, dialogue and sharing on non-violence.
“Through your beneficial thoughts, generate a powerful current of peace, brotherhood and true love, strong enough to ward off war and social conflict.”
His Holiness Lord HAMSAH MANARAH
