PRESENTATION OF THE 2018 SYMPOSIUM
OVERCOMING VIOLENCE TO LIVE BETTER TOGETHER
The suffering generated by violence strikes us in the depths of our being.
How, then, can we escape the spiral of human violence, whether it be aggression against the environment, the abuses of science without conscience, or the tragedies born of intolerance? How can we manage to live better together?
This symposium offers an exchange on various possible solutions.
According to the Aumist Teaching, the presence of the Divine in every being implies a feeling of unity and respect for differences. But all of us, whatever our paths, are concerned by the urgency and necessity of overcoming divisions in order to be happier.
All of us can cultivate the strength of non-violence, and learn to leave behind the prejudices and desires for power that incite hatred, so as to be able to contribute, through prayer, thought, speech and action, to moving towards greater brotherhood.
In daily life, each of us faces a decisive choice for the future of the planet:
- Either to endorse the divisions that perpetuate violence and countless sufferings,
- Or to feed the current of tolerance and solidarity that is indispensable for living together in peace on the social and planetary levels.
“Men will not know peace and harmony until they have developed greater respect for human worth in their neighbour. This respect must be expressed through tolerance.”
His Holiness Lord HAMSAH MANARAH, Founder of Aumism
Welcome to all those who wish to contribute to peace: lectures on the Aumist Teaching and lectures by independent speakers will open a fraternal dialogue that respects differences.
