PRESENTATION OF THE 2022 SYMPOSIUM
LET US REINVENT SOLIDARITY
The competition of short-term interests has divided the planet, which today is being sorely tested: events show us, in every sector, that we can no longer live by generating destructive fractures.
Reinventing solidarity and making it grow in the world can turn today’s uncertainties into the matrix of a new humanism: we are in unity with all those who, fortunately, are already contributing to it.
According to Aumism, we are not separate from one another; the Divine present in every being is the foundation of the unity of all living things: acting well towards others and towards Nature is good for oneself and vice versa, which renews the notion of happiness. Existence is therefore “a constant apprenticeship in solidarity, brotherhood and mutual aid”, in which prayer and action go hand in hand.
Believers or not, and whatever the context, we can together put solidarity into practice in all its forms and place it at the heart of our relationships.
We will see, for example, that striving to reduce suffering, inequality and injustice, fighting global warming, directing one’s thoughts towards greater love, and putting one’s spiritual work at the service of humanity are complementary aspects of the solidarity that must respond to planetary emergencies.
May all our efforts converge massively towards rebalancing the planet that future generations will inherit…
