THE VALUE OF LIFE

It is possible that, obsessed with purely material concerns, we have more or less obscured the vulnerability of our human condition. Like other acute and global crises, the pandemic, with the number of its victims published daily – sometimes even with the mourning of a loved one – brutally (re)confronts us with the finitude of our existence… But it also invites us to regenerative awareness:

– That of our inner resources: “On the one hand we are humans with this known vulnerability, on the other hand we participate in the divinity. This latter awareness should not only comfort us in moments of despondency due to trials; it should also strengthen us enough to arouse Strength and Courage…”. » (La Réintégration Divine par le Yoga, p. 97)

– That of the value of our existence. To meditate on the meaning and use of our precious and ephemeral life, here are some of the questions we can ask ourselves: “Have I done well? Have I thought well? Did I do the right thing? Who am I to be reconciled with? Whom do I ask forgiveness from? Who do I have to forgive? What goals should I set for my transformation and the evolution of my fellow human beings? (La Loi d’Evolution des âmes, p.325)

If we feel that we have not accomplished all that we could have done or wanted to do, let us not sink into guilt. We can strive to evolve as best we can from now on:

– By gradually getting out of dependence on things and beings, in order to move towards the appeasement of the wise who manage to feel “temporary managers” of their material goods and to rid their affectivity of possessiveness, without giving up loving fully.

– By giving a luminous meaning to our daily life by the following means: harmonizing our relationships through benevolence, tolerance, reconciliation; acting in solidarity with others and our environment; generating thoughts of compassion, positive thoughts.

– By praying also (for example by repeating the OM) to alleviate suffering in the world, to help the souls of the deceased, to foster in us and our fellow men a sense of unity and respect for all that lives.

Thus the spectacular emergence of human frailty can help us to regain awareness of the unalterable force of Love present in each one of us, and to choose to express it.
