continuitY OF LIFE

All religious and spiritual traditions have a specific conception of the afterlife that welcomes the soul at the death of the body.

According to Aumism, the soul of the deceased continues to evolve in an afterlife called “Column of Light”. It is “a school of life after death where a transformation of mentalities takes place step by step, allowing for a happy reincarnation”: by developing the qualities of the Golden Age [1], the soul will become capable of spreading peace on Earth.   (A Law to Destroy Evil, p. 421.)

This continuity of learning in the visible and the invisible involves helping all beings uninterruptedly, both before and after physical death, through prayer and thought. In this way, when we are faced with the pain of bereavement, it is possible to continue to show concern for our loved ones.

This continuity also encourages us to see the price of the present existence and to fulfill it as best we can, keeping in our hearts and minds the meaning of the human journey:

“What is Evolution if not a few more steps at each incarnation

in the way of Divine Love, of Unity with everyone,

of forgiveness of offenses and of the greatest tolerance?” [2]
