ABSORPTION OF QUALITIES AND ENERGY
ALCHEMY OF THE BEING
To understand the effectiveness of the exercises that follow, it is useful to know a few essential principles taught by the Sages of India:
1. For respiratory cultivation to be beneficial, it must be accompanied by an orientation of the mind.
2. Through concentration of the mind, one can accumulate Ie Prāna wherever one wishes.
3. Thought is the absolute Master of the force that controls the Prāna. All the interest of directed breathing thus appears: the possibility of purifying the organism, of regenerating it, of transforming oneself morally. psychologically.
In this paragraph, we indicate two exercises for two purposes:
– The absorption of qualities,
– and the absorption of energy
EXERCISE IN ABSORBING QUALITIES
1. Choose four qualities to develop:
LOVE – COURAGE – TENACITY – WISDOM
2. Lie down and relax completely.
3. Inhale, thinking:
‘I am absorbing the Universal Forces that bring me these four qualities: LOVE – COURAGE – TENACITY – WISDOM’.
4. Hold in the air, repeating mentally: ‘I fix in myself these four qualities:
L-C-T-W; L-C-T-W
L-C-T-W; L-C-T-W
Putting the words corresponding to the initials; and imagining the qualities…
5, Exhale, thinking:
”I reject the air with all the impurities of my heart and mind”.
And I fix in me the following qualities: LOVE COURAGE TENACITY WISDOM”
6. Repeat this exercise 3 times only at the beginning.
7. Pause for a moment. Admit that these qualities have really been assimilated and that the subconscious mind accepts them
8. Put all thoughts out of your mind and mentally chant the sound OM, while maintaining your relaxation
9. If there is time, take a few deep breaths before getting up.
ENERGY ABSORPTION EXERCISE
If you want to repair your strength or boost your energy potential, you can do this exercise:
1. Lie on your back, then relax briefly.
2. Feel the infinite energy in which we are immersed.
3. Inhale, thinking:
‘I am absorbing the Prāna, this Universal force which brings me: ENERGY, DYNAMISM, LIGHT, WISDOM’.
4. Hold in the air, reciting four times this phrase:
‘I am fixing this energy within me, which nourishes the cells of my body and my entire being’.
5. Breathe out, mentally repeating this thought twice:
‘I reject the air with all its negative conditions, and I settle into strength, calm and serenity’
6. Repeat this exercise 3 to 7 times
7. Clear your mind of all thoughts, while maintaining your relaxation.
Notes : This exercise can be done sitting or lying down at any time of the day or night. However, the informed yogi insists more on the morning session. Doing it too much in the evening could lead to insomnia. Those with a heart condition or fragile lungs should be very careful.
